Documentary: Ghosts of Sugar Land
Short Documentary on Netflix.
Imagine a group of American Muslims born and raised in Texas. A non-Muslim kid at school becomes their friend. They grow together through all sorts of experiences.
Then this friend converts to Islam.
Then he becomes radicalized.
This is their story, in their words, of a man they thought was their friend. Now they don't know what he was or is. This is why they wear masks in their interviews.
It's short, less than half an hour. I found it interesting and informative in both what these men say to the viewer and to each other.
